The Djinn rolled himself up in his dust-cloak, |
and took a bearing across the Desert, | и помчался через Пустыню, |
and found the Camel most 'scruciatingly idle', | и нашёл в ней Верблюда - бездельника, |
looking at his own reflection in a pool of water. |
"My long and bubbling friend," said the Djinn, | "Мой длинный глупенький друг" сказал Джин, |
"what's this I hear of your doing no work, | "'это ещё почему мне говорят ты не хочешь ничего делать, |
with the world so new-and-all?" | когда земля ещё совсем молодая и всё на ней?" |
"Humph!" said the Camel. |
The Djinn sat down, with his chin in his hand, |
and began to think a Great Magic, | и начал наколдовывать искусное волшебство, |
while the Camel looked at his own reflection in the pool of water. |
"You've given the Three extra work ever since Monday morning, | "
all on account of your 'scruciating idleness,' " said the Djinn; | а всё из-за того, что ты бездельничал" сказал Джин, |
and he went on thinking Magic, with his chin in his hand. |
"Humph!" said the Camel. |
"I shouldn't say that again if I were you," said the Djinn; | "На твоём месте я бы так не говорил" сказал Джин |
"you might say it once too often. | "Ты говоришь это слишком часто. |
Bubbles, I want you to work." | Глупый, я хочу, чтобы ты не бездельничал". |
